Butt-weld fittings are an important part of many piping systems. These types of fittings are used to connect pipe segments and to change the flow direction of liquids or gases.
Applications: Oil, Fuels, Gases, Steam, Water and a variety of Chemicals
Coyote Gear Butt-Weld Fittings are available in 304 or 316 stainless steel. 304 SS is the most commonly used type of stainless steel because it’s the best value and can be used in a wide range of application. 304 SS is classified as a low carbon austenitic alloy with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%. 316 SS is the second most popular type of stainless steel. It’s more expensive but it provides better corrosion resistance than 304 because of the addition of molybdenum. 316 is used in food grade products as well as surgical, pharmaceutical, marine and acidic applications.
Industry manufacturing standards for butt-weld fittings conforms to ASTM A403. The dimensional tolerance specifications standards conform to MSS SP-43 for Schedule 10 fittings and ANSI B16.9 for Schedule 40 fittings
The ends of butt-weld fittings are beveled to improve welding strength and interior flow.
