Camlock fittings have historically been manufactured to Mil Spec MIL-C-27487, which has since been superseded by the Federal Standard A-A59326. This ensures compatibility between different manufacturers. The Mil Spec provides various specifications to be adhered to such as dimensions and material pressure ratings. Our camlock fittings are specifically manufactured to conform to mil spec dimensions and ratings.

Camlocks are also referred to as Cam and Groove Coupling Fittings.
Camlocks are used to connect and disconnect hoses, tubing and pipe lines.
When selecting the material that the Cam and Groove Couplings are made of it is important to make sure that the fittings' material is compatible with your application’s media, temperature and pressure.
Do not use Cam and Groove Couplings with compressed air or steam.
Make sure that the male and female Camlock adapters are the same size.
Aluminum Camlocks are lighter weight and lower cost than stainless steel couplings and are frequently used for water applications.
Stainless Steel Camlocks have excellent corrosion resistance and are often used in chemical and acidic applications. Stainless steel is also used in potable water systems.
Polypropylene Plastic Camlocks are lightweight, durable, and very economical.
